The cryptocurrency exchange Binance (Binance) headquartered in the Republic of Malta signed a memorandum with MSX Plc, a subsidiary of the Maltese Stock Exchange for the opening of a security token exchange.
In the signing ceremony, Mr. Joe Portelli, Chairman of the Maltese Stock Exchange and Mr. Wei Zhou of CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of Binance, signed a memorandum of understanding.
The new exchanges will comply with the laws and regulations based on Binance’s international strategy and business model and will utilize the 26-year record of the Maltese Stock Exchange.
Edward Scicluna, Finance Minister of Malta, said at a press conference that the block chain and the cryptocurrency are at the same risk as others, but they are revolutionary and change the world .
He also emphasized that new technologies such as block chains require measures against money laundering and improved transparency.
