Some of Elon Musk's latest tweets have hit Waves outside of the crypto community, as few tweets do. Musk is the CEO of US-based Tesla and the founder of SpaceX. In his tweets Musk now expressed his great interest in anime, ie Japanese animated cartoons.
This culminated in a picture with a typical anime character and a big Bitcoin logo on it. The tweet said, “Want to buy some Bitcoin?” The text was rounded off by some emojis. The picture came from a website called “Cryptocurrency Girls,” which depicts various popular cryptocurrencies as anime characters.
Just a few hours after the tweets were released, the internet was full of astonishment. That came from the apparent love of music to Bitcoin. Soon, many influential Twitter users came to Musk for cryptocurrency. One of the best known was Zhao Changpeng, the founder of the Binance crypto exchange. Zhao fueled the discussion and promised to buy a Tesla car if the company accepted payments in cryptocurrency.
But that was not the end of the topic. Shortly thereafter, the thread was filled with a number of Twitter users talking to Elon Musk and Zhao Changpeng. The tweet collected 8,000 likes within a few hours and was retweeted more than 3,000 times. At the time of going to press, these figures had even increased significantly. Zhao joked in the conversation and asked that someone draw more anime for Elon. A Twitter user tried hard to persuade Zhao to influence Musk to accept BNB coins. BNB is the official cryptocurrency of Binance.
In the following, the conversation in the context of Tweet was civil. Many users shared their opinions about Tesla, Kryptos and Binance. One user even hoped that Tesla could become the first automaker to accept cryptocurrencies.Overall, it can be said that the thread was full of fun and power. People came in droves to listen to Elon Musk talking about cryptocurrencies and his interest in anime. Things got a bit tricky only when Twitter suddenly blocked Musk's account. Since Musk does not talk much about cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin, Twitter's headquarters apparently assumed that his account had fallen victim to a hacking attack. It was assumed that the hacker or the Hackers talk about Musk's account in order to abuse its popularity for their own, unfair purposes. Later, however, the account was unlocked after it became clear that Elon Musk was actually entertaining.
