Boerse Stuttgart has announced in a press release that it wants to create a continuous infrastructure for digital assets. The intention is to create a platform for initial coin offers (ICOs), a multilateral trading center for cryptocurrencies and secure custody solutions. With this, Börse Stuttgart wants to continue its digitization strategy. The goal is to become a pioneer in the digital transformation of financial markets and products.
Börse Stuttgart's interest in cryptocurrencies was first shown in April 2018. At the time, one subsidiary (Stuttgart Digital Ventures Exchange) announced that its subsidiary Sowa Labs was working on a commission-free crypto-trading app. This app is titled “BISON” and is scheduled for release this fall.
The current press release shows that the Stuttgart Stock Exchange has much more ambitious plans. These, like the platform for Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), should be implemented soon after the introduction of BISON.
Thanks to its market experience, Börse Stuttgart has a broad knowledge of technology, regulation and trading models. Stock Exchange spokesman Alexander Höptner said:
“On this basis, we can offer central services along the value chain for digital assets from a single source. Investors and market participants know that the Stuttgart Stock Exchange stands for quality, transparency and reliability. As a provider based in Germany, we want to translate this claim into the digital world and thus make a contribution to the acceptance of digital assets. “
The stock market approach is comprehensively structured. With BISON one offers a trading possibility, which is to facilitate the market access. At the same time, BISON should enable free and secure trading of cryptocurrencies.
The announced platform for Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) should be able to issue digital tokens. A particular advantage of the platform will be the implementation of standardized and transparent processes. At the same time, the stock exchange wants to build a regulated and multilateral crypto trading center. There it should be possible to trade the tokens issued on the ICO platform in the secondary market. This is an essential factor for the success of an Initial Coin Offerings (ICO), explained the spokesman of the stock exchange. Similarly, established crypto currencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum should be tradable on the trading venue. According to its own statements, the Stuttgart Stock Exchange works closely with the committees and supervisory authorities.
Another important pillar of the concept is creating opportunities for safekeeping. Thus, the services of the stock exchange offer differentiated security concepts for digital assets. These should already be available at the start of BISON (ie in autumn). Customers should be able to use these storage options later along the entire value chain.
