The IOTA Foundation has now published an interim report on the status of the cooperation with Audi. IOTA stated that the cooperation so far has produced positive results.
As reported before, a few months ago, the “Audi Denkwerkstatt” and the IOTA Foundation had come together for a four-month cooperation. In doing so, the possibilities of the IOTA technology for solving problems in the real world should be examined. Specifically, the topics were mobility, automotive and the Internet of Things.
Now the team has presented the results of this cooperation to a select audience in Ingolstadt and Berlin. IOTA explained on medium:
“The presentation was a success and yet another example of how important it is to look at new technologies like IOTA from the customer's perspective.”
How did the project go so far?
Audi spent the first few weeks looking for and finding experts in the field. So the problem and possible solutions should be outlined. After this initial phase, the team silently worked with other experts to create a prototype. In addition, it collected feedback from users and drove the market further.
The IOTA Foundation team acted as a regular adviser to the carmaker and helped out in technology, business models and use cases.
Audi's Malte Schönefeld praised the IOTA Foundation team. He said:
“Finding new topics is always exciting and you need excellent teamwork and dedication to really get things going in six months.”
Janine Härtel of IOTA emphasized the track record of Audi and said it was proud to have got to know Audi's team spirit and way of working.
Jan Pauseback of the IOTA Foundation added that the cooperation with Audi shows that innovation requires a hands-on attitude and cooperation.
The end result of the cooperation remains open and remains to be seen.
