Mozilla, which provides Firefox, announced on the 21st that the latest version of the web browser ” Firefox Quantum ” has implemented the function to prevent crypto jacking .
On the official blog last August, Mozilla warned of the existence of “cryptojacking,” where hackers use virtual browsers for browser mining without the consent of the device owner.
So the company has partnered with Dis Connect , which focuses on online privacy, to develop a cryptocurrency mining blocker for Firefox Quantum.
The latest version implements a mining blocker as an opt-in to prevent free space on the device from being used for illegal mining of cryptocurrencies.
In addition to the crypto jacking prevention function, the latest version of “Firefox Quantum” has a fingerprint collecting function for privacy protection.
